Who Is Covered?

Those providing security systems services on the premises of a person's residential or commercial property, including
(1) surveying the property for purposes of installing a security system;
(2) physically installing, maintaining, or repairing a security system for the customer; or
(3) responding to a distress call or an alarm sounding from a security system.

Circumventional information

Those with access to circumventional information means information, including pass codes, that allows an individual to alter the operation of a security system. Does not include generic user or installation manuals.

Carry & Display License

Each security systems technician shall carry and display the license on demand of any customer or law enforcement officer.

Local Requirements

Counties, Cities, Village and Towns may have license requirements for burglar and or fire alarms that may require:

• A company license
• Specific training
• Equipment that meets a standard
• User permits or registrations
• One or two call verification
• Site plan approval and or inspection
